I would like to recommend two online fitness challenges:
30 Day Yoga Home Journey by Yoga with Adriene – This series contains a gentle vinyasa flow paired with kind words and peaceful thoughts. Time spent with Adriene and her co-host Benji (dog) is never wasted. https://yogawithadriene.com/home-30-days-of-yoga/
21 Days to Kickstart your Fitness – This workout series is available on the Active by PopSugar platform. The main focus is mobility with an emphasis on the arms, abs, and legs. https://active.popsugar.com/plan/21-days-to-kickstart-your-fitness-PD7IZSAjCb/play
I have peeled many potatoes, but never has one looked back at me in this way.
I went to the local garden center today to buy herbs. Unfortunately, most of the plants had died due to the unseasonably cold temperatures. I turned a corner and saw that all of the Pansies remained in full bloom. I felt proud to see the flowers overcoming their stereotypical weakness.
I strongly recommend ‘Headspace’ for anyone interested in practicing meditation. Below is a link for a free two week trial.
This is an easy read that follows the calendar year. Topics include perception, action, and will. I find the passages to be a great way to fill the mind after seated meditation.
I found it hearwarming that Yale is offering free classes on well-being. I recommend taking the class or registering to thumb through the material. The content is uplifting during this time of uncertainty.
I took North End Yoga’s first live stream yoga class today and it was wonderful. This is my favorite yoga studio in the city. They are offering single classes or a two week pass. All classes run through Zoom and a link is emailed to you 15 minutes before the start of the class. Classes can be purchased through the Mindbody website/app.
I am currently reading the book “Yogi Code” by Cameron Alborzian. One chapter recommends the use of a daily morning routine to set the tone for your day. The first step is to arise at the same time that the sun illuminates the horizon. Luckily, I am reading this book in the springtime in Boston. The sun is scheduled to rise at 6:41am tomorrow (3/23). Tomorrow will mark my first day of this new journey. See you then.
Class will be held tomorrow in the Symphony Road Community Garden. Class begins at 10am and will run for 50 minutes. Class is free and open to all.
Stumbled upon this little gem on Spotify. “Be Here Now” by Ray Lamontagne
And confused your will be still, don’t try
Don’t let your heart get heavy
Child, inside you there’s a strength that lies (lies)
Child, it’s only time, it will go by
Don’t look for love in faces, places
It’s in you that’s where you’ll find kindness
Be, be here now, be here now
And I will try not to lose faith in you
Don’t put your trust in walls
‘Cause walls will only crush you when they fall
Be, be here now, be here now
